Apprehension

"Lurking, lying in wait like a predator, it conjures up a fog; my apprehension is causing me to mistrust everything around me. Through that fog, I discern the form of my tormentor. At the top of that form are glowing blue eyes, not with the mischief captured in family photos, but with mayhem – the mayhem that is going to be unleashed on my world that I have no power to stop. I shake my head as the fog dissipates, slowly rolling away, taking with it into the night the shapes that disturb me. I'm losing my mind..."
